Why it takes 6–9 weeks

Your board doesn't exist yet when you place your order — and that is exactly the point. Nothing is pulled off a warehouse shelf. There is one maker, Riana, and she takes your board through all five stages herself:

1. Choosing the wood. Planks of solid walnut, gone through one at a time. Only the pieces with grain worth looking at are kept.
2. Mixing the resin. Pigment by eye, never by recipe — no batch has ever been repeated exactly.
3. Laying the artwork. The design is built up by hand inside the mould, piece by piece.
4. The pour. Resin goes in and then it waits. Days of nothing visibly happening. This is most of the 6–9 weeks.
5. Finished by hand. Sanded grit after grit until you cannot feel the seam, oiled until the walnut goes dark, then packed and labelled by hand.
